thumb 0HV 1115Although the weather was not very pleasant – the rays of the sun setting penetrated through the heavy clouds and one could feel the piercing cold of autumn – the Service in the Cathedral of Assumption was celebrated with joy. Many pilgrims shared the festive mood.

The sacred procession started from the Cathedral of Assumption to the Holy Spring on the 9th of October at 745. Frosted leaves were crisping under the feet of the pilgrims. The trees were covered with frost. The silent nature being sensitive to any sound seemed to be inhaling the words of hymns and prayers.

Four liturgies – two early ones and two late ones were served in the cloister that day. The early liturgies were celebrated in the Church of St. Seraphim of Sarov and in the Church of St. Nicholas.

The late liturgies were served simultaneously at 9 o’clock. Vladyko Benjamin headed the service in the Cathedral of St. John the Theologian and Vladyko Dionysius the Bishop of Kasimov and Sasovo headed the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of Assumption.
