In the Cathedral of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian there is a reliquary in which the relics of more than 120 saints are kept. Among them there are the relics of the Holy Apostles: St. Peter, St. Andrew the First-Called, St. Matthew and St. Luke the Evangelists, St. Nicholas, St. Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon, St. Great Martyr George the Victorious.
The icons of the Theotokos are not of less importance. On the altar in the sanctuary of the Cathedral of the Assumption there is a wonder-working icon of the Theotokos of the Sign which is taken to the lectern in the middle of the church on Sundays. Moleben with the chants and the blessing of water is celebrated at it.
In the same church on a high lectern to the left of the Holy Doors there is a wonder-working icon of the Theotokos of Tikhvin. It is just alike the ancient worldly famous wonder-working icon which is now in the Tikhvinskiy Monastery of the Assumption near Saint-Petersburg.
The relics of many saints are also kept in the house church consecrated in honor of the Theotokos "Quick to Hearken".They are kept in special reliquaries. Among them there are the relics of St. Mamont and Trifon, St. Blessed Amy of Ryazan.
By God’s mercy our cloister is rich in relics. But it is only a part of the treasure Orthodox Church possesses.
Church is like a hospital, where the most skillful doctor is constantly present, where one can find a medicine for the treatment of any mental disease, any sinful sore, of any human passion – of all the things which take away the true incomparable happiness or beatitude, but the sick man himself should make trials to obtain the true health.
So, do not let us be afraid, because little spiritual labor is rewarded with eternal beatitude.
