The Day of Commemoration of St. Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian.

On the 21st of May the Divine Service in the honour of Saint Patron of the monastery St. John the Theologian was celebrated in the cloister.

thumb Image00019As usual the brethren of the monastery were praying together with numerous guests: priests and the laity.

His Eminence Paul Metropolitan of Ryazan and Mikhailov and His Excellency Dionysius Bishop of Kasimov and Sasovo honored the cloister with their presence.

thumb Image00011The All-Night Service with Litany and Acathistus to St. Apostle John was headed by Vladyko Dionysius on the 20th of May. And on the following day the Divine Liturgy was headed by Vladyko Paul.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy Vladyko Paul preached a warm sermon and when everybody came to kiss the Rood, they were given small cards where St. Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian was depicted as if he were soaring over the monastety.

On the very day on the Feast two Cross Processions took place.

thumb Image00030On the 21st of May before the Divine Liturgy started, a Cross Procession went from the Cathedral of Assumption to the Holy Spring where the Brother of the monastery Hegumen Seraphim (Kirillov) served a moleben with the consecration of water. The other Cross Procession took place at the end of the Divine Service. It was headed by Metropolitan Paul and Bishop Dionysius. Everybody praised God and His Saint Apostle of Love together.

For the prayers of this Great Saint may God give us a humble heart filled with love to God and our neighbors.
